Tai Chi

Tai chi chuan or tai chi or taiji quan is a Chinese martial art called "internal" (neijia) often reduced to a health-related gymnastics. It can also have a spiritual dimension. Its purpose is to work the energy called chi. Tai Chi-Chuan as an internal martial art emphasises the development of a supple and dynamic force called jing, as opposed to pure physical strength li. One of the rules of tai-chi-chuan is relaxation (song). This relaxation guarantees the fluidity of the movements and their coordination. Once the relaxation song is ensured, the practitioner will develop pengjing, an internal force consisting in connecting each part of the body while remaining relaxed.
